The horse racing Triple Crown has eluded many champion horses over the years in real horse racing. The virtual horse racing version of the Triple Crown has also been out of reach. Although it only has a five year history, the quality of horses coming through has made it quite a challenge to try and even win two of the three legs. In the first year of the virtual Triple Crown series, a horse by the name of Fuji Ninja managed to steal the 2004 Kentucky Derby and the 2004 Preakness Stakes with a courageous front running performance. Running as the hot favourite in the 2004 Belmont Stakes, the gelding was unable to repeat his earlier performances and finished sixth.
To this day, the 2004 Triple Crown series is the only year that a horse has won the first two legs.
