Preakness Stakes - Horse Racing Triple Crown

The second race in the three race Triple Crown series is the Grade I Preakness Stakes, held at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. The race is run on a dirt track over one and three sixteenths of a mile on the third Saturday in May. This race is typically the race that the winner of the Kentucky Derby runs well in because of the closeness of the race distance.
